Probably the biggest compliment that a photographer can get is when one photographer asks another to shoot their wedding. When Courtney Von Holt asked if I would photograph her wedding in Grand Junction, Colorado, I was floored.
First, because she’s adorable and she and Chris are cccccdr4 (sorry, that was my puppy) adorable together. Two adorable people makes my job that much easier.
Second, because we have pretty much the same artsy style.
Third, because she’s a photographer and so she thought through every detail like a photographer. It was like every detail went through the “how will this look in pictures” filter. (And she did a great job at it. Thanks so much for that!)
Fourth, because she knows the work that goes into getting the perfect shot and truly loves the art of photography.
It was a beautiful, hot day on the edge of Colorado at Cross Orchards where the lovely couple exchanged their I do’s. It was perfect. There were just the right amount of tears and an abundance of smiles and laughter. I loved looking over and seeing Chris discreetly grab Courtney’s hand and Courtney shoot a smile Chris’s way in the middle of greeting all the guests. Both their families were incredibly sweet to David and I and were always making sure our needs were met.
It was just a great day all around! And they lived happily ever after…
