Oh Jackie and Ben. This wedding was a romantic fall fine art wedding if there ever was one.
I was so pumped for their wedding day from the initial meeting I had with Jackie. She was sweet, kind, adorable, and living in Boston! Jackie, who is from Minneapolis, moved out to Boston with her now husband Ben. They came to Minneapolis for their engagement session and we immediately bonded over the love of laughter. Ben had me cracking up the whole session. Fast forward 8ish months later and I got to see Jackie and Ben at Callie & Crosby’s wedding. Such a cool thing to be able to bump into my other couples at weddings I’m shooting.
Then Fall rolled around and we all headed out to Minneapolis (unfortunately, not on the same flight…big bummer) from the east coast. The Fall weather was perfect. The leaves were screaming with color- it was all so dreamy. One of those fall nights where you could just cozy up around a bonfire with a Brahms Mount blanket with a glass of red wine.
Jackie’s gown was one for the books. So modern, so classy, so chic (and from one of my new favorite bridal boutiques here in Boston- Ceremony)! And Ben approved saying it wasn’t a dress that just girls liked but a dress that guys liked as well. My husband and I have this conversation all the time- he loving dresses or outfits on me that are the complete opposite outfits that I would pick for myself or that any of my girlfriends would compliment me on. Men. Hah!
Their ceremony was held as the sun was setting, with the perfect city of Minneapolis as the back drop at Nicollet Island Pavillion. I can’t tell you how much I am loving Maine but I’m missing Minneapolis hard core (sans it extreme cold). They incorporated both faiths- Jackie’s Catholic background and Ben’s Jewish background- into their ceremony. Fast forward to their reception, probably some of my favorite reception photos of all time. Maven Floral installed a hanging greenery and Edison Bulb piece above the head table. That paired with Jackie’s elegant hair by Eye’s and Irons and the guys wearing tux’s, it was such a polished and classic night. And Ben’s speech had everyone dying of laughter- myself included.
Thank you, Jackie & Ben for such a wonderful experience and a wedding I soon won’t forget.
