David and I celebrated our 10th anniversary over New Years Eve but covid put a damper on our plans to travel over seas. So we opted for a San Diego Trip! We started off our trip at The Pendry Hotel in the Gaslamp Quarter of San Diego. The hotel was modern and styled beautifully with a rooftop pool and an all glass in-room shower. We dined at the restaurant right beside The Pendry called Provisional Kitchen and I enjoyed many GF options! We meant to stop in there for breakfast the next morning because they have bottomless mimosas on the weekend but instead we stoped by their champagne vending machine and took a stroll through the farmers market just outside the restaurant. I found a jeweler, named Christiana Layman Designs, at the farmers market who makes delicate, beach appropriate (yet also fabulous for a night out in the city) jewelry and opted for a necklace with a baroque pearl.
We just spent one night at The Pendry and then grabbed some coffee from Portal Coffee in San Diego and started our drive to The Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel in Dana Point California. We stopped for a quick hike and for David to touch the Pacific Ocean for the first time at Blacks Beach. We were greeted by friendly faces and one of the best views of the ocean. We drank wine on the terrace and watch the surfers as the sun went down over the ocean. The Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel has an exercise room that overlooks the ocean so even the most anti-workout person could enjoy exercising there. And if it’s windy, make sure to use their hot tub that is fully enclosed by walls to keep yourself warm and its pretty secluded!
We hiked around Dana Point and visited Laguna Beach for some shopping and dining. We also enjoyed a round of golf at Monarch Golf Links at The Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach. Though it was incredibly windy and I had to buy an extra jacket because it was so cold, it was a fun day on the course!
We visited The Ranch at Laguna Beach for delicious drinks and food that overlooks the mountain and their golf course. Such a stunning spot for a wedding! After dining at The Ranch at Laguna Beach we drove back down to the Carlsbad Cliffs and photographed Jenny & Eugene- past clients of mine. You can view their photos on this blog post. Truly a memorable anniversary getaway and excited to come back to The Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel for a wedding!
