I have been loving living in Phoenix- even through the extreme summer heat. Did you know that we broke the record this year for the amount of days over 100 degrees?! It was like a trial by fire (literally) on moving to Phoenix. But I do miss the coast and I miss the beach. It would be very weird if a week went by and I wasn’t at the beach. We’d have our lunches and dinners there, playdates there, late night wave watching there, relaxing fall picnics, and energizing winter walks. Moving to Arizona, one of the biggest reasons why I questioning the idea was because the closest beach is 3 hours away. Ugh. But thankfully, I am keeping about 50% of my business back on the east coast! So that means, beach engagement sessions! And this Newburyport engagement photos was one of them!
Courtney found this spot, Plum Island in Newburyport Massachusetts, and it was just perfect. A cute little boardwalk, plenty of beach access, and paths through the sand dunes that had these pastel green dune grass. The sun was giving us the warmest tones and paired with cool, blue ocean and Courtney’s blue dress- everything collided just so to give the perfect look. And I loved getting to know Courtney and Kevin a little bit better before their 2021 wedding next year!
Also, Newburyport is just the cutest town! I had never been before but I got to the shoot a little early and got to drive around their downtown area. It reminded me of Portland Maine, Kennebunkport Maine, and Boston all mixed together. European with it’s cobblestone streets, old light posts, and character filled houses. And then these new, gorgeous houses right on the beach with that were built so carefully to add to the charm of the city and not modernize the look too much. I will definitely be spending more time there come next summer! And definitely would be up for more Newburyport engagement photos!
