This was one of those weddings that I cried a little when I left because it was over. I had been working with Jon & Nicki for a while now and flown out for their engagement session last fall so we had plenty of time to get to know each other. Their wedding day was exactly how I had pictured it- an all white wedding that was beautiful and a great party. They started off their day getting ready at The Depot where they would later have their reception. Nicki’s bridal party was cracking me up with all their getting ready dancing and everything else to get Nicki to laugh. Nicki and Jon chose to forgo having a first look but Nicki and her dad had a first look and man, it couldn’t have sweeter. She also had one with her brother, scroll down to see all that goodness.
They had their ceremony at The Basilica of St Mary’s and then we trotted around Minneapolis for some portraits. Such a good time! And their pup, Teddy made a grand appearance after the ceremony. But one of my most favorite moments of the night was when Nicki’s dad was giving his toast. He explained that Nicki as a child had given him this rock and he had kept it with him for years. And then he passed the rock off to Jon in the most humble of ways. The whole room was wiping tears away from their eyes. It’s moments like those that make me so excited to be able to do this as my job and be a part of photographing couples big days.
The lovely vendors who made Jon & Nicki’s all white wedding day possible…
