Coral called me one afternoon asking the usual questions, “What are your prices?”, “Are you available this day”, and etc. I figured this would be just like any normal call until she told me how she really liked vintage stuff too. Wait, what?! I’m not the only one in Watertown, Wisconsin that has fallen in love with the style that my great grandparents lived in?! This was not a normal call, this was an answer to a prayer, to a dream of mine. As soon as I got off the phone I started to think of what we could do incorporate all the vintage stuff (David calls it “junk”…he’s so loving) that I have accumulated from antique stores and garage sales. And then somehow this little set up popped into my mind. And I have to say I’m quite pleased with how it came out.
Now for the story of Coral and Jeremy…remember how I said I thought the phone call between Coral and I was going to be one of those “normal” conversations. Well, not only did the vintage-loving talk make the conversation not normal, but also the brief fact that she threw in about half way the through the conversation, “We have triplets.” She said this so calm and just went on to the next thing without any hesitation. She acted as if it was something simple and normal. While I was blown away and trying to grasp the thought of how big her belly must have been, how painful the pregnancy must have been, and if there was a sigh of relief after each came out or if it was somewhat of a dreadful thought knowing she’s going to do the same thing again. No joke, I seriously was thinking all those things. Then to conclude all my thoughts about this triplets thing I thought “She’s Superwoman. And I have to meet her.”

A few weeks after our conversation we met up in a little frisbee golf trail to do their vintage engagement shoot. I told Coral how much I loved her dress and her shoes and she told me that she wanted to go all out because they never do this. I then proceeded to tell them what I tell every other couple, “Just pretend you’re on a date.” They both gave each other a look and replied with “A date? What’s that?”…. Triplets, Jaimee, triplets! Sorry guys, my bad.

But though they hadn’t been on a date in who knows how long, they still knew how to love on each other. When I asked how Jeremy proposed, Coral shyly told me that it wasn’t that romantic but that they were both at home on the couch and he just popped the question. Most intricate story I’ve ever heard about a proposal? No, maybe not. Romantic? Most definitely.

A place that you feel comfortable in, a place where you want to be in, a place where you want to be with your spouse for the next 60+ years, a place where the memories are made and stories are created…that place is one of the best places to be proposed to, I believe. Though there’s not necessarily anything wrong with extravagant proposals at gorgeous places, there is something to be said about simple love. A simple note, a simple “I love you”, a simple hand hold, a simple kiss on the forehead…really, how could that not keep you happy for a life time?

So excited for their wedding!!
I caught them laughing at each other a lot. So cute!
