One of my favorite things about being in the wedding industry is all the wonderful places that I get to venture to photograph love and beauty. The most recent place was Charleston, South Carolina. This city has captured my heart and I may just need to convince my husband to move down here during the freezing cold months of winter in Maine. This shoot was made perfect with the pale colors of all the houses, the jasmine dripping down everywhere- oh, and the smell of jasmine is just something so lovely to come across while you’re just walking through historic downtown-, our great team of vendors, and our stunning model! I can see why everyone has a love for this city!
I’ve loved how the wedding trend right now has been adding a lot more pastel and muted lilacs, pinks, and blues so these houses were just perfect to shoot in front of. We started shooting on Rainbow Row, which is definitely a touristy area (which I’m normally not for) but for a good reason. And it really wasn’t as flooded with tourists as I thought it was. You could (and I did!) walk for hours around this city and still stumble on cute corners and buildings.
The dress for this Charleston bridal shoot we chose a more modern gown that would be great for any wedding day and then the kaftan from La Vie Style House serves as a great option for either a bachelorette party down in Charleston or even the day after the wedding when you still want to be bridal but comfortable.
For this Charleston bridal shoot, I loved working with a Charleston based florist, On a Limb Florals, and hair dresser, Paper Dolls Hair. Our lovely model’s name is Sally and I had been following her on social media for a little while and saw she was going to be in Charleston from Berlin the same time as me so I reached out to see if she could be our model. Go follow her over on Instagram and on her blog!
