Whoever likes cupcakes, raise your hand. Me too! Well, an ingenious Maine couple, Anna and Joey, decided to pimp out an old trailer and start a business selling their delicious cupcakes. Having a wedding? Birthday party? Bridal shower? Hire Love Cupcakes…and then make sure you invite me.
I asked Anna if she could answer a few questions about Love Cupcakes. So here ya go, learn some more about Anna, Joey, and Love Cupcakes…
What gave you this brilliant idea to start up a cupcake “factory” and where did the idea of a trailer come from?
Well, I have always been a huge fan of cupcakes and dreamed of owning my own business one day. I currently work as a social worker and love what I do, but was looking for something to do on the side that was not so emotionally charged. My mother is an amazing baker and has been baking with me for as long as I can remember. Cupcakes are a great way to incorporate a variety of recipes and techniques, plus they are super cute!
After searching for a few months, we finally stumbled upon this little travel trailer. It was a trade-in at a local RV dealership, nestled way in the back. It was perfect! It was the “Charlie Brown Christmas Tree” of travel trailers. Water damaged, leaking roof and a nice musty smell; this was definitely the trailer for us.
The pictures of our renovated Love Cupcakes speak for themselves, three months of renovations and design finally paid off.
Whom is Love Cupcakes made up of?
As of now just myself and my husband.
Do you cater to (hah! no pun intended) just weddings?
Nope, we will cater any event…… large or small. We have done corporate parties, baby/bridal showers and birthday parties for all ages!
What’s your favorite/most sold cupcake?
Well…..I believe the most sold cupcakes are our Flour-less Chocolate/Chocolate Fudge Frosting and our Vanilla/Vanilla Frosting cupcakes. People seem to love the traditional flavors. We have also been working on vegan cupcakes of all of our flavors. We want everyone, no matter their diet, to be able to enjoy our cupcakes. My husband and I are vegans and I believe that I have perfected the art of vegan cupcakes!
I noticed on your website that you love Maine and everything local….ever think of a lobster cupcake?
Uh..yeah!! We have one in the works for summer 2012…stay posted! The ingredients are top secret!
