I had the opportunity to be a part of the Align Fashion Show this past weekend! Showcasing the pieces of apparel made by the senior design students at the University of Minnesota, Align is a wonderful annual show. I looked at sneak peaks of each of the designers and I was just floored by their talent and vision. Here are a “couple” of my favorite pieces throughout the show. (Descriptions of photos/pieces shown below each set)

The Sophomores and Juniors also each presented an outfit. These two outfits were my favorite. The bubble dress was so chic yet it also looked extremely comfortable. And let me tell you, it doesn’t matter how perfect an article of clothing fits or how beautiful it is- if it’s uncomfortable it’s not getting into my closet. The tulle dress was awesome. The back reminded me of the dresses the step sisters wore on Cinderella. 🙂

Kora Gleason made this jacket and I just loved the color, material, and collar.

Laura Schaefer brought down the house with her collection- no question about it. The ombré print and the versatility to wear the pieces for any season. When she starts selling I’ll be buying! Faith and Veronica of Parallel Pulse were modeling some of the outfits and also wearing their to die for jewelry.

Carissa Prieve‘s collection was wearable and professional. I loved the middle outfit with the shorts, tights, and fur vest.

Thanh Nguyen’s collection was perfect for me…black and white.

Jordyn Reich. Those pants are the best pants I’ve EVER SEEN!

Kayla Styczinski‘s collection was exactly what I want to be in my closet but don’t have yet.

Jenny Hessman’s children’s line was just the cutest thing coming. The littles did such a great job modeling and the clothes are exactly what I want my kiddos to wear whenever they come into our family.

Jessica Manthe’s jacket was just phenomenal. The shape was something I’d never seen before and the fur “mohawk” in the back was such a great touch. A perfect Minneapolis piece.

Stayce Petraborg had her models wear these awesome and ridiculously tall shoes. But the jacket was what caught my attention. I would wear that thing every day!

Mai See Her‘s line of wedding dresses were great. They made me want to re-do my vows. I didn’t get a shot of it but one of the dresses had a detachable skirt to give one dress two great looks. My other favorite was the mermaid dress pictured above. The fabric that the dress was made from was just so beautiful and unique. Such a great job!
