Abby and Brendan live in California but decided to have their wedding in Minneapolis where a lot of Abby’s family was. Abby got ready with her friends at her childhood home while Brendan was getting all dolled up himself at Martin Patrick3 in the North Loop of Minneapolis. I once photographed a wedding in Louisville and met a barbershop owner who told me that he was hoping to open up his shop for grooms and their groomsmen to get a nice shave and enjoy a cigar before the big day and I remember thinking that was so awesome because the grooms tend to get left out on the day of weddings. Brendan enjoyed a nice shave with a fancy barber while all his groomsmen chilled in Martin Patrick3’s grooms room.
Abby’s dress was phenomenal with the most delicate of details. We found a weeping willow tree down by the lake that was just the perfect location for their pictures. Scroll down to see the magical lighting that happened!
Their speeches at the reception were some of my favorites. Brendan’s mom had passed away and both sides of the family had rallied around him, knowing this day is not the easiest when someone you love can’t be there. The speeches were touching and brought tears to everyones eyes. Such a sweet moment to be a part of.
